Adele Hope Valenti, 1942-2026

Posted

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adele Hope Valenti. Adele was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 3, 1942 to Josephine Reservato and Dominick Valenti. She moved to Alaska to pursue education and received a degree in psychology. Adele went on to work for the state of Alaska treating mental health patients. She loved her work and continued to excel.

Adele also loved Alaska. It spoke to her in her faith and spirit. The comradery and family of Alaskans fit her personality. Always making friends and keeping up with the family, she retired from her position and pursued her award-winning artistry. Her home in the Copper River Basin was where she wanted to be. Though she traveled to Florida for the rough winters, Adele always communicated with her friends and family, making it clear to everyone she was going to stay in Alaska, by her mountain.

Adele had three children: Steven, Curt, and Toni-ann. She also had four grandchildren: Courtney, Lexi, Nico, and Nicole. She adored her grandkids and would do anything to spend time with them. Adele had a Yorkie named Scruffy who was her best friend and always by her side. She is preceded by her siblings Jerry, Bobby and Richie Valenti, Jojo, and Millie; along with her daughter, Toni-ann.

Her faith kept her strong, even in the end–her faith, her family, and her mountain.

There will be a celebration of life May 29, 2026 at  Mt. View Baptist (Kenny Lake and Edgerton Hwy).
