Local Student Wins Art Competition

This is the first year we have had art at Kenny Lake School in many years, ever since Treks began. I am so proud to say that we have a full class of nine students that have been honing in on their talents all year.

Our students were all signed up for the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) State competition. There were a total of 19 schools across the state to compete with 134 entries. We were lucky enough to have one student's talent rise to the top and receive first place in the drawing category, Miss Sylvia Nelson, an 11th grade student.

Student artwork from around the state is currently displayed at ArtAlaska.org.
